Introducing Carissa:

When I first heard about the Cookie Garden and explored its website I started to think of all the people whom I would love to send a bright bouquet of cookies in a personalised pot. As someone who always puts a lot of thought into giving presents, The Cookie Garden definitely appeals to me, which is what makes working here even more fun.

I’ve always loved to draw and knew from a very young age that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. I took as many art classes as I could when I was in high school where I focused mainly on painting, then went on to study Visual Arts and Animation at University. After graduating I discovered that finding work as an artist can be tricky, and most of my friends told me to take an ordinary job behind a counter. I can’t begin to convey how happy I was to find a job where I can express my creativity and put all my arts training to good use. Not only do I get to paint cute pictures all day, but I know that every pot I make will go to a good home and bring joy to people all over the country.

At the Cookie Garden we work hard to create designs that express the right feeling and will make people smile, whatever the occasion. I think the best thing about  these gifts is that, unlike a traditional bouquet of flowers that only lasts a few days, people can keep these pots forever. For that reason I always put a lot of care into each and every one I paint.

I hope my art will brighten your day!

Introducing Alexandra -

The philosophy of ‘The Cookie Garden’ is to make people smile. I hope when you look at my artwork on the pots that’s exactly what happens!

I can hardly pass a newsagency these days without having a look at all the magical greeting cards. The images or sayings on the cards bring such a smile to my face. I also love children’s drawings as I have been a Primary School Teacher and an Art and Craft Teacher at a Secondary School for thirteen years.

I come from a little tiny, German-speaking country in Europe.  I have traveled a lot to the United States to study English and to explore California. The first few times, I couldn’t really speak much English but I always found a card that said and showed exactly what I was trying to communicate. It’s these delightful greeting cards, that bring so much cheer to people, that inspire my work today. I particular enjoy painting bright smiley faces and all sorts of angels.  And, we test all my artwork by the size of the smile it gets from the staff here at The Cookie Garden!

I was drawn to The Cookie Garden because I believe in its commitment to helping brighten people’s daily lives.  In this day and age, it’s a basic but very important task.  We are all so busy in our daily lives but it’s so important not to forget to encourage our loved ones. It’s so important to let people know you’re thinking about them and want to help them smile as much as possible. And what’s best about The Cookie Garden is that each and every one of our pots is lovingly and individually hand-painted creating a long-lasting special gift, combined with scrumptious cookies that can be enjoyed immediately!

I truly hope my artwork makes you smile.
